Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Love is patient, Love is kind,
It does not envy, It does not boast,
It is not proud, It is not rude...

"How happy is the blameless vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd;
Labour and rest, that equal periods keep;
"Obedient slumbers that can wake and weep;"
Desires compos'd, affections ever ev'n,
Tears that delight, and sighs that waft to Heav'n."

"Eloisa to Abelard", Alexandre Pope.

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind..love gone bad is like a stain on our mind. There are two sides to every story. sometimes, maybe once in a lifetime, we fall so deep for someone, that even if we completely erase him/her out of our mind, the heart cannot be fooled. On the other hand, love can turn out so wrong, that only erasing it all could help us move on.

It's all about what kind of state of mind you're in when you watch the movie. Better yet, it's about what state of heart you're in. Look after your heart. Don't feed it with too much saddness. Don't feed it with too much reality. 'Cause, God forbid, if your mind does get erased, you just might be left with nothing.

If someone's mind does get erased, they aren't left with nothing... they're left with a lot: a clear conscience, a fresh start, unchipped hope, the feeling of everything felt and experienced for the first time (which isn't always good, but at least it's exciting)...still, I have come to a point where regret has no place, I love my memories, every single one of them, even the fell into the gutter that I suffered on the paintball field :), memories are probably the closest to what has been that will ever get, a thing like that should be treasured...of course there are things in many unfortunate persons’ lives that traumatize them every blink, every dream...for them the utopian solution would be selective erasing, just like in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"(The film).
Alas, there is a curse of the memory wipe…the inexplicable solitude that floods the empty spaces of the memories there are no more…
"Silence is scattered like a broken glass.
The minutes prick their ears and run about,
Then one by one subside again and pass
Sedately in, monotonously out.
You bend your head and wipe away a tear.
Solitude walks one heavy step more near."
(Harold Monro – Solitude)
